How The Process Works

Insurance adjuster inspecting roof of a home for storm damage.Do I file a claim for storm damage or not?

Most homeowners find it difficult to make this decision after a storm has swept through their neighborhood, it can be overwhelming. You may have never dealt with filing an insurance claim before, or perhaps you have but worked with an inexperienced contractor that made the process a nightmare.

Let us put all your fears to rest, Bear Roofing & Exteriors has worked with homeowners and insurance companies on thousands of claims. Our years of extensive experience and dedication to our clients have allowed us to become experts with the insurance claim process.

We will work with you and your insurance company through the entire process. You can rely on our expertise to help you repair all the storm damage to your home with the least amount of hassle for you.

OK, I have not filed a claim yet . . . What should I do next?

Prior to starting your claim, it is a good idea to have an experienced Bear Roofing representative complete a thorough damage assessment of your property. Once we have completed your property inspection, we will review our findings with you in detail and answer any questions you may have.

If you feel the damage to your property warrants a claim you will need to contact your insurance company's claims department and set up an inspection by an insurance adjuster. Your insurance company will schedule a date for their adjuster to visit your home. They will most likely need to contact the adjuster and get back to you with the date and time for the inspection. Bear Roofing prefers to be at the inspection to review the scope of the damage with the adjuster, please pass the appointment information along to us.

The insurance adjuster represents the insurance company. It is the adjuster's responsibility to inspect the damage to your home, determine if your damages are covered under your policy and offer a settlement amount.

  • The adjuster will complete a damage report detailing the scope of work that needs to be completed to repair the storm damage.
  • If the damage is covered under your policy, they will offer you a settlement amount.
  • Your acceptance of the settlement initiates the processing of the paperwork necessary to complete the repairs.

Once the insurance company has generated the paperwork, we will review all the details with you and propose a plan of action to repair the damage. Upon completion of your repairs, Bear Roofing will file all the necessary paperwork with your insurance company to complete the claim process.

Working with an experienced contractor like Bear Roofing & Exteriors is important. Our extensive experience working directly with insurance companies will make your home repair a breeze.
